2)  How is Dames Bond unique from other networking communities?

Here are just a few ways Dames Bond is unique:

• Dames Bond is a networking “community” comprised of all women.
• We are social based and foster relationships between all members regardless if they are self-employed, work for someone else or unemployed
• We are not industry specific, nor are we solely a professional networking group.
• We as women stand together, regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, or other discriminating factor.
• We want to develop more women leaders in business and in other areas of human endeavor.
• We connect women consumers with women in business.
• We actively market our members through online business listings, a speakers bureau and publishing opportunities.
• Bottom line: Dames bond is about women doing business.

Bond Events, held once a month provide a social based atmosphere where women can connect and share on common ground...an equal playing field. No intimidation. No false pretense. It’s a place where we can learn to talk about what it is we do without having to “pitch” someone.

To be successful, we need to define our niche, discover the tools that will help in our success, embrace our resources and gain the insight from mentors. This is what Dames Bond does best!

3)  Why was Dames Bond started?

We conducted a lengthy survey and asked women what they want in a networking community. We learned that women are truly strengthened by the dynamics of other women and desire a casual & affordable atmosphere where they can connect an share with other women. We also learned that women in business want to network with women as consumers. Bottom line: Our survey confirmed that when dames bond, dames thrive!

Not only for networking purposes, but Dames Bond offers women doing business in Central Ohio an opportunity to have their business listed on Dames Bond.

4)  Why should women doing business in Central Ohio be listed on Dames Bond and why should consumers seek out women in business?

There are thousands of women in Central Ohio who are often over looked when consumers are seeking products or services because women in business are generally in "microscopic" business and can't afford to market their services to the general public. Dames Bond makes it AFFORDABLE for women in business to get the exposure they deserve!

When women form friendships, they build trust. With trust business will follow.

5)  How can I get my business or a woman in business listed on the Business Listings?

If you are a woman doing business in Central Ohio, you can be listed on Dames Bond! Whether you are self-employed or employed by a company, you can be listed on the site! It’s that simple! Send your information, including contact name, phone, email, website, and address to maryb@damesbond.com.

If you want to refer a woman in business, send a testimonial supporting her by clicking on the "REFER WOMEN IN BUSINESS" on the front page of DAMESbond.com. Testimonials received will be listed under her listing!

6)  How often do Dames Bond and who can host a Bond Event?

Monthly Networking Events are held the first Monday of the month and are hosted by Investor level Members.

What you need to know before you host an event.

• You must be an Investor Member doing business in Central Ohio
• Have a venue or know of one that can hold between a minimum of 75 people
• Provide appetizers and beverages
• Present a 10 minute talk about your business, offer words of inspiration, stories on successes and failures
• Provide a raffle prize.

If you don’t have a location or you want to collaborate with someone else, search other members who might be able to help. As well, you can consult with Mary B.

What will Dames Bond do in return.
 
We will market your Event and business online and in print, secure guests, manage the RSVP process, guide your planning phase, build and manage the agenda, register guests, and secure raffle prizes.

7)  How does Dames Bond provide educational opportunities for women?

• During Bond Events, women who are experts in their field are asked to speak. The goal is to learn from stories of successes and failures with some “know-how” from their field.
• Workshops are currently being planned for the fall, hosted by local women in business! A variety of topics will be offered. Stay tuned. Sign up here to receive notices of all upcoming events.

8)  How does Dames Bond actively market its members?

While we're always looking for new ways to market our members, here are a few things we're doing right now:

• Listing member businesses on our website
• Offering the opportunity for Investor-Level members to host monthly Bond Events
• Featuring businesses in the bi-monthly Bond Alerts
• Inviting local women in business to participate in workshops and other events
• Offering women in business an opportunity to present their business during Bond Events
• Offering members the opportunity to have 24/7, up to the minute, online presence on the calendar and on the message board.
• Presenting expert articles and interviews provided by local women
